Cangzhou Lions secured their place in the Chinese Super League (CSL) relegation battle by securing three crucial victories in their last four matches.

The club, which has struggled for form this season, started the final round of fixtures with a win against Qingdao Jonoon, before following it up with another victory over Tianjin Teda.

In the penultimate match of the campaign, Cangzhou drew 1-1 with Beijing Guoan, but they were able to secure a point thanks to a late equaliser from striker Wang Zhihao.

With just one match remaining, Cangzhou now sit in ninth place and have a chance of finishing above the relegation zone if results go their way.

The team's manager, Li Hongbin, was delighted with the result and believes that his players' hard work and determination has paid off.

"Winning these three games is a huge boost for us," he said. "We knew that we had to win our last few matches if we wanted to avoid relegation."

Cangzhou will be hoping that they can continue their good form into the new year as they look to secure their spot in the top flight of Chinese football.
