  • Madrid, Spain – Real Madrid has set a new record for the highest attendance in a La Liga match at the Bernabeu Stadium. The club announced on Monday that they had sold out the stadium's capacity of 75,000 seats and then added an extra 18,000 tickets to accommodate fans who had not been able to get into the game.

The match against Valencia was the third consecutive sell-out at the Bernabeu, which is one of the largest stadiums in Europe. It also marks the fifth straight season that Real Madrid has sold out its home games.

The attendance figures were released after the match ended in a draw, leaving both teams with zero points from their opening four matches of the season. However, Real Madrid will be looking forward to facing Barcelona next weekend, as it will be the first time that the two biggest clubs in Spanish football have played each other this season.

Despite the disappointing start to the campaign, Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane said he was pleased with the performance of his team and praised the supporters' efforts in making the match a sell-out.

"We knew it would be difficult to win this match but we showed our class and fought until the end," Zidane told reporters. "We are disappointed with the result but we can take pride in what we achieved."

Meanwhile, Valencia manager Quique Setien expressed his disappointment with the result but praised the fans for their support. He said: "It was a tough match and we gave everything we had. We didn't deserve to lose and we'll keep fighting."

Overall, the match was a reminder of the importance of the Bernabeu as one of the most important stadiums in world football. With such a large crowd, it is clear that the club and its fans continue to be the envy of many other clubs around the globe.
